TL;DR: Searching for an electrician near you in Northwest Arkansas? Franklin is a local, top-rated answer — based in Springdale and covering Fayetteville, Bentonville, Rogers, Bella Vista, Farmington, Centerton, Cave Springs, Lowell, Tontitown, and Siloam Springs. We handle outlets, switches, panels, rewiring, EV chargers, lighting, and emergency calls. Service calls are $29 with an all-in price quote before any work begins. For small electrical work like switches and outlets, our office can give you a flat-rate quote over the phone — no visit needed.

Common electrical issues & quick fixes

Electrical problems can range from minor annoyances to major safety hazards. Before scheduling a service call, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check your circuit breakers. If your power is out in certain areas, it might be a tripped circuit breaker. Locate your panel and check if any breakers are in the “off” position.

2. Inspect your outlets. If an outlet isn’t working, it might be due to a tripped GFCI outlet. Check nearby outlets for a reset button. If the outlet is hot or sparking, turn off the power at the breaker and call a professional.

3. Test your light switches. If a switch isn’t working, it might be faulty. Turn off power at the breaker, remove the switch cover, and inspect the wiring.

4. Check your light bulbs. If a light isn’t working, it might be a burnt-out bulb. Replace it and see if that resolves the issue.

5. Inspect your appliances. If an appliance isn’t working, it might be a tripped GFCI outlet or a blown fuse.

6. Look for flickering lights. Flickering lights can be caused by loose bulbs, faulty wiring, or an overloaded circuit.

7. Check for exposed wires. Exposed wires are a serious safety hazard. Turn off the power at the breaker and call a professional immediately.

FAQ

Common electrical questions.

How fast can you come out for an electrical issue?
Same-day or next-day service is the norm in Northwest Arkansas, except during periods of extremely high demand. If it's an emergency, we'll route an on-call technician to you the same day, including evenings and Saturdays. Book online or call (479) 282-0003 and we'll give you the soonest available window before you hang up.
How much does electrical work cost?
It depends on the work. Outlet replacements start from $149.99. Light-fixture installs start from $199.89 when you supply the fixture. Ceiling fan installs start from $249 when you supply the fan. Breaker replacements start from $268.92. Whole-home surge protection is $349. New 120V circuits start from $696.77 (does not include wire). Pricing includes parts and labor; sales tax not included, and rates can shift over time, so your electrician will quote the exact flat-rate price on-site before any work begins.
Is the work code-compliant and permitted?
Yes. All Franklin electrical work is performed by licensed electricians and we pull permits whenever required by local code. No corner-cutting — an electrical mistake is a fire or shock risk.
Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Yes. Every Franklin technician works under our Arkansas state licensing, and we're fully insured (general liability + workers' comp). Our team is also background-checked and drug-tested. Email us if you'd like proof of license and insurance.
Do you guarantee the work?
Yes — every job is backed by the Franklin Service Guarantee. If something we repaired or installed isn't right, we'll come back and make it right at no charge.
What happens if you can't fix it on the first visit?
Most repairs are made on the spot, but if a repair needs a specific part from the factory, we will order it and come back to install it ASAP.
What is the $29 service call?
It's our diagnostic visit. A licensed technician comes out, figures out what's actually going on, and gives you an all-in flat-rate price for the repair before any work starts. If you decide not to move forward, you only owe the $29 — no penalty. Replacement quotes (water heaters, AC systems, panels, etc.) are always free.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We've teamed up with Wells Fargo to offer financing on home repairs over $500, upon credit approval. See our financing page for current promotions, or ask your technician for options before approving the quote.
Do you offer services other than this?
Yes — Franklin handles HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. Same crew, same $29 service call, same flat-rate guarantee.
