HVAC Service Technician
Responsible for repairing customers' HVAC systems. 1+ years of experience required.
$60-100k
A family-owned home-services company in Northwest Arkansas. Great pay, real career growth, and a team that cares about doing right by our customers and each other.
Being an HVAC technician is a demanding job. It requires grit, intelligence, and industry knowledge — and there aren’t a ton of people out there with all three. On the other hand, demand for good technicians is huge. Supply and demand works its magic, and voilà: technicians making $60–80k a year.
When times get tough, people give up luxuries. New cars, name brands, weekend trips. You know what they don’t give up? Air conditioning.
You haven’t seen a happy person until you’ve seen someone whose AC is working again. As an HVAC tech, you save the day for hundreds of people a year.
Using your mind is great — and you do plenty of that. But there’s something about using your own hands to solve real problems that’s hard to beat. Every day you can look back at what you accomplished and feel real pride.
If you’re a good HVAC technician, you’ll never be out of work. Demand is too high and supply too small. HVAC techs are needed everywhere, so wherever you move, you’ll find work.
Just because you start as a tech doesn’t mean you have to end your career as one. HVAC is enormous — at Franklin alone, there are management, sales, and back-office paths. Outside of Franklin, there’s manufacturer technical support, territory management, controls engineering. You could even take what you learn and start your own business.
If you sat in front of me and asked me to sell you on coming to work at Franklin, this is what I’d say:
1. We are one of the few remaining HVAC contractors of any size in Northwest Arkansas that’s still family-owned, and we don’t intend for that to change anytime soon. Decisions are made by people who work in the business every day — not by executives at a finance company in some far-flung state.
2. We’re focused on taking care of our customers, not extracting every last penny out of them. Obviously we need to make money, but the focus is on what’s best for the customer, not what’s best for Franklin. If we take care of our customers, our customers take care of us.
3. High-performers are well compensated at Franklin. We spend a lot of time and effort on increasing efficiency, and high-performers share in those gains, as they should.
4. We work hard, but we play hard too. There’s no getting around it — all of us in HVAC work really hard in the summer. But those four months of longer hours pay for a much more relaxed, four-day work week the rest of the year. If you like to hunt, fish, work on cars, or travel, Franklin is the company for you.
What I won’t say is that Franklin is an easy job.
We pride ourselves on working hard and caring about the little things, and frankly, that comes with a price. If it were easy, everyone would do it.
That said, the people here feel a tremendous satisfaction that every day we accomplish things competitors many times our size don’t, despite us having far fewer resources. The people here have grown this company from nothing to one of the largest HVAC contractors in Northwest Arkansas — and that’s a satisfaction no one can take away.
