Tank water heater install prices have gotten out of control — we aim to fix that

Why are we doing this?
The honest answer is that the prices plumbing companies are charging to install regular old tank water heaters is getting out of control. Nowadays, it’s not unusual to see them quoted at $3,000 or more, even though the tank itself only costs the contractor $500-600.
We figure that if we can install them for a reasonable price, we can introduce Franklin to thousands of new customers and grow our plumbing business. Our hope? That doing a great job with your water heater replacement leads to a shot at earning your other plumbing business (not to mention your HVAC and electrical work). We want to prove with our actions that what is written on the side of our trucks is true: that a company should charge what it needs to, not what it wants to.
I've never heard of Franklin. Why should I trust you with my water heater replacement?
Fair question. For starters, we've been around the block for a while. Since our founding in 2018, we've served over 7,000 customers and won a few awards (Best of Northwest Arkansas, Best of HomeAdvisor, Angi’s List Super Service). Plus, we have almost 700 five star reviews and as of this writing, a perfect 5.0 star rating on Google. That does not happen by short-changing customers, we can assure you.
Granted, we'll be the first to say that we're not perfect. Any time humans are involved in a venture, mistakes are going to be made. That said, we have a good reputation because when we do make a mistake, we make it right with the customer. Every. Single. Time.
Last but not least, we're family-owned and operated. In fact, I (Will) am one of the owners and I'm the one writing this ad. Why does being family-owned matter? Well, frankly it makes it hard to overcharge people when you have to see them at Walmart once a week (or twice or thrice, honestly I think there have been weeks that I've gone to Walmart every single day).
Tell me a bit more about this offer. It sounds too good to be true...
The offer is simple. Franklin will replace your 40 or 50 gallon existing tank water heater with a similarly sized tank for $1,500 plus tax. This price includes the water heater, expansion tank, drain pan (as required by code), city/county permit fee (if applicable), materials to connect to your existing water / electrical / gas / exhaust as needed, and labor to install it.
The only restrictions / fine print are as follows:
- No apartments or commercial properties
- Must have an existing water heater that is in a code compliant state (we don’t want to get in trouble for installing water heaters that are not to code — once we touch it, it becomes our problem). If we go out there and find that the existing set-up is not to code, we’ll give you a price to bring it up to spec. Don’t worry though, there’s no charge for the initial replacement quote visit so you won’t be out anything, even if you decide not to do any work through us
- Existing water heater must be in a location that we can walk up to and work on relatively easily (the vast majority are and even if it is in a weird location, we can probably change it out, but there would be a difficult access charge added to the estimate)
- There must be existing water, electrical, gas, and exhaust hookups within the immediate vicinity of the water heater. If a necessary component is missing, we can quote a price to add it
- Regular electric and gas tank water heaters only (no heat pumps). If you have propane rather than natural gas, there will be a $200 charge on top of the $1,500 to cover the more expensive propane water heater
- Must be in our service area (roughly a 30 mile radius around our office in Springdale)
I’ve got a 30 gallon or 80 gallon tank water heater. How much would you charge to change it out?
Since 30 and 80 gallon tanks are less common, they tend to be quite a bit more expensive. That said, we’re going to apply the same pricing philosophy to them, just not with a flat price. If you’d like a free quote on changing yours out, just let us know.
Ok, you got me. How do I move forward?
Easy peasy — just call or text our office and tell them you'd like a $1,500 tank water heater install. You'll likely speak with Glenda (she's a delight) and she'll get you on the schedule for a free replacement quote at a date and time that works for you. Once our plumber gets out there, he'll check for any code issues, confirm the price with you, and if you want to move forward, install your new water heater (if in stock locally).
One last thing - I want to know personally how it goes. After your shiny new water heater has been installed, shoot me an email at [email protected] and let me know how our team did. Seriously.
